Il costume tradizionale di Venezia per il Carnevale, da uomo, è sicuramente quello della Bauta. Spesso a questa parola viene associata solamente la maschera. In realtà il costume intero è composto da una maschera bianca in carta pesta che copre l'intero volto, da uno zendale nero che copre il capo e le spalle (non incluso in questo pacchetto, ma ordinabile a parte), da un mantello nero a ruota intera e da un cappello tricorno nero.

The traditional costume of Venice for the Carnival, for men, is certainly that of the Bauta. Often only the mask is associated with this word.
